Minutes of February 23, 2005 Meeting

Meeting was called to order and chaired by Leif Marking.

There was a special presentation by George Howe of the Mississippi Valley Conservancy.

Minutes of the January meeting were approved as distributed; treasurer's report was accepted.

Conservation Alliance report by Leif Tolokken. The annual Alliance banquet is April 7th. Tickets ($12.00) can be obtained from Leif or Marc Schultz. BPCA will donate a few door prizes for the event.

Spring turkey contest; Dick Marco is the captain and can sign you up. Contact him at marco1"at"charter.net or 781-2261.

Motion was duly made, seconded, and passed unanimously to negotiate with DNR and acquire used docks at Trempealeau.

2005 Fishing Derby:

• Preliminary report from Pete Tabor indicated that it was financially a good year, with net profit up by over 30% from the previous year.
• Motion made, seconded, and unanimously passed to send Jim Fox $100.00 in appreciation for use of his parking lot for the derby tent.
• Mark Viner, Willie Fernholz, and Joe Kawatski filled all the tent stake holes in the parking lot with blacktop.
• Top raffle ticket sales people were: Leif Marking ($2,100), John Wiggert ($1100), and Bruce Van Berkum ($587).
